Giant crack in the ground forms in Pakistan (100’s of miles long)

A large fissure has opened in Pakistan over the past few days, alarming residents, and sending professionals into spin mode for explanations.

The crack is incorrectly being blamed on “rain” and flooding. Obviously no water is present, and the fissure hasn’t formed due to an underground river either.

We can tell the fissure is seismic related due to the shape, length, and depth of the tear in the crust. Additionally, the fissures formation followed the largest earthquake to strike Pakistan in months (a M6.3) which struck a few days ago here at the start of February 2017.
