Yellowstone Seismic Warning: China building their own “CERN” .. going to be THREE times larger

Yellowstone Seismic Warning:

Massive fissure opens up in the Bighorn Mountains, which are on the far Eastern edge of Wyoming, supposedly part of the ancient craton blast caldera which extended for hundreds of miles East of Yellowstone.

Technically the mountains are caused by uplift, but if you look at it from space, clearly you can see the Bighorn Mountains are related to the 11 grand canyons worth of magma below the region in the yet unmapped underground regions of Eastern Wyoming.

The “explanation” from “professionals” is downright laughable… they’re trying to say it is from underground springs (water).

Nevermind the arid nature of the whole event, and nevermind the giant fracture in the ground not caused by water or DEFLATION of an aquifer.

Clearly this movement is seismic in nature, and falls directly East of the huge Yellowstone underground magma chamber.

This is not water related. Anyone who says it is, in my opinion, they’re full of the old stuff.

Maybe I should go up and check it out and lower cameras down into the fissure, maybe a drone would do it.

Not one to be outdone by the West, China is reportedly preparing to build a super-sized particle collider that’ll dwarf the existing Large Hadron Collider operated by CERN. Chinese scientists will use its proposed Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) to study Higgs boson particles, with the goal of learning more about the so called “God Particle” and possibly dark matter, which makes up most of the universe.

The CEPC collider will measure between 50 and 100 kilometers (31 to 60 miles) in circumference, which is significantly larger than the LHC, which measures just 27 kilometers (about 17 miles) around. It will generate seven times the energy of the LHC, allowing scientists to potentially create millions of Higgs boson particles in a single go.

To date, the LHC has only spotted hundreds of Higgs boson particles because “it generates Higgs particles together with many other particles,” explained Wang Yifang, director of the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. “The proposed CEPC, however, collides electrons and positrons to create an extremely clean environment that only produces Higgs particles. The LHC is hitting its limits of energy level, it seems not possible to escalate the energy dramatically at the existing facility.”

Construction won’t begin for quite some time, however. Speaking to China Daily, Wang said that the scientists have completed the first conceptual design and submitted those plans for international peer review. A final conceptual design will be ready by the end of 2016. Construction of the fist phase of the CEPC will begin between 2020 and 2025 with a second phase planned for 2040. The second phase will see the establishment of a Super Proton-Proton Collider that will be powered by a 100 TeV proton collider. In comparison, the LHC currently operates a 13 TeV proton to proton collider.

Costs have yet to be detemined, but if the project is ever completed, the CEPC will likely be the largest, most expensive science experiment the world has ever seen.

LHC Glossary

TeV

A TeV is a unit of energy used in particle physics. 1 TeV is about the energy of motion of a flying mosquito. What makes the LHC so extraordinary is that it squeezes energy into a space about a million million times smaller than a mosquito.

TeV stands for tera electron Volts. That is 1,000,000,000,000 electron Volts or 1012 electron Volts. [tera – f. Gr.{tau}{geacu}{rho}{alpha}{fsigma} monster.]

An electron volt is an unit of energy, particularly used in atomic and nuclear processes. It is the energy given to an electron by accelerating it through 1 volt of electric potential difference.
The abbreviation for electron volt is eV.

Energies in electron volts

An adult female mosquito weighs only about 2.0 milligrams (about 1/15,000 ounce).

1 eV = 1.6 x 10-19 Joules

1 TeV = 1.6 x 10-19 x 1012 Joules = 1.6 x 10-7 Joules

1/2 m v2 = 1.6 x 10-7 Joules, m = 2 x 10-6 kg therefore v = 0.4 m/s = 1.4 kph

Apparently Mosquitoes can fly about 1 to 1.5 miles per hour. 1 mph = 1.6 kph so our mosquito is a little slow, but the comparison is a good one.

Giant fissure (crack) in the ground in Wyoming, East of Yellowstone, is NOT from flooding, aquifer draining, or springs of water letting loose.

Just a fyi.

Over the weekend a number of reports came in about a crack in the earth showing up in the southern foothills of the Big Horn Mountains. A friend of ours, Randy Becker was in the area and captured the above images of the collapse and shifting of the soil and rock in the area. Estimates by some put the area at 750 yards long by 50 yards wide.

Another post on Facebook by SNS outfitters stated an opinion by a local engineer,

An engineer from Riverton, WY came out to shed a little light on this giant crack in the earth. Apparently, a wet spring lubricated across a cap rock. Then, a small spring on either side caused the bottom to slide out. He estimated 15 to 20 million yards of movement.

With no earthquakes and a small amount of movement recorded by the USGS we will have to go with that explanation until someone comes up with another. Quite a find during a weekend hunt and beats a few of the “trophies” we have seen.

China building their own “CERN” .. going to be THREE times larger and over 7 times as powerful as CERN in Switzerland.

In other news, China now wants to be held responsible for volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes

Say what you will about their last album, but U2’s tour art may just make up for it, especially when you consider that it’s all derived from particle physics. That’s right — the stunning imagery created for the band’s tour by artist Jeff Frost is actually timelapse footage from CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. The message behind the dizzying array of colors is meant to be the “neural net of humanity,” and while art is always up to interpretation, at the very least, this stunning combination of art and science has achieved some type of “wow” factor.

Frost, who has a background in time-lapse and astrophotography, was the perfect fit for the very “pro-science” band — on a previous tour, U2 “featured a live link to astronauts on the International Space Station, who spoke to the audience,” and as it turns out, several of the band members are very well connected to heavy hitters in the physics world.

When Frost almost jokingly asked to be sent to “CERN and a server farm,” he didn’t expect for his seemingly bizarre request to come to fruition. But boy, did it ever. Speaking with The Creators Project, Frost explained, “[The Large Hadron Collider], for those who don’t know, is the biggest machine mankind has ever created. It’s a 22-mile ring of magnets 100 meters underground that smashes particles together at nearly the speed of light. The pieces of the particles go flying into gigantic particle “cameras” (detectors) the largest of which is seven stories tall. There are thousands of scientists from countries that are normally mortal enemies such as India, Pakistan, Israel, and Iran all working together trying to figure out what the universe is made of at a very small scale. It is a real-life manifestation of the best traits of mankind on a grand scale.”

As such, the collider seemed to be the perfect illustration of humanity’s connectivity, and for a week, he was allowed to photograph essentially at will. Said Frost, “I’d go into an experiment and basically say, ‘Hello, could you please halt the scientific progress of humankind and turn off the lights for four hours so I can make some pretty pictures?’”

Ask and you shall receive, it seems, especially when your client is U2.

Now, the incredible photographs are being shown to audiences on enormous screens as U2 plays concerts across the world, delighting fans with both aural and visual stimuli. Each song is matched to a series of photographs to create a fully immersive experience, and the results seem to be a real crowd pleaser.

So while you may not want to be forced to listen to their album on your iPod, it may just be the case that seeing it live, with Frost and CERN’s art, may make all the difference in the world.

China building their own “CERN” .. going to be THREE times larger and over 7 times as powerful as CERN in Switzerland.

In other news, China now wants to be held responsible for volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes

Chinese scientists have completed an initial conceptual design of a super giant particle collider which will be bigger and more powerful than any particle accelerator on Earth.

“We have completed the initial conceptual design and organized international peer review recently, and the final conceptual design will be completed by the end of 2016,” Wang Yifang, director of the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, told China Daily in an exclusive interview.

The institute has been operating major high-energy physics projects in China, such as the Beijing Electron Positron Collider and the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino experiment.

Now scientists are proposing a more ambitious new accelerator with seven times the energy level of the Large Hadron Collider in Europe.

In July 2012, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, also known as CERN, announced that it had discovered the long sought-after Higgs boson-the “God particle”, regarded as the crucial link that could explain why other elementary particles have mass-on LHC.

The discovery was believed to be one of the most important in physics for decades. Scientists are hopeful that it will further explain nature and the universe we live in.

While LHC is composed of 27-kilometer-long accelerator chains and detectors buried 100 meters underground at the border of Switzerland and France, scientists only managed to spot hundreds of Higgs boson particles, not enough to learn the structure and other features of the particle.

With a circumference of 50 to 100 km, however, the proposed Chinese accelerator Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) will generate millions of Higgs boson particles, allowing a more precise understanding.

“The technical route we chose is different from LHC. While LHC smashes together protons, it generates Higgs particles together with many other particles,” Wang said.

“The proposed CEPC, however, collides electrons and positrons to create an extremely clean environment that only produces Higgs particles,” he said.

The Higgs boson factory is only the first step of the ambitious plan. A second-phase project named SPPC (Super Proton-Proton Collider) is also included in the design-a fully upgraded version of LHC.

LHC shut down for upgrading in early 2013 and restarted in June with an almost doubled energy level of 13 TeV, a measurement of electron volts.

“LHC is hitting its limits of energy level, it seems not possible to escalate the energy dramatically at the existing facility,” Wang said. The proposed SPPC will be a 100 TeV proton-proton collider.

If everything moves forward as proposed, the construction of the first phase project CEPC will start between 2020 and 2025, followed by the second phase in 2040.

“China brings to this entire discussion a certain level of newness. They are going to need help, but they have financial muscle and they have ambition,” said Nima Arkani Hamed from the Institute for Advanced Study in the United States, who joined the force to promote CEPC in the world.

David J. Gross, a US particle physicist and 2004 Nobel Prize winner, wrote in a commentary co-signed by US theoretical physicist Edward Witten that although the cost of the project would be great, the benefits would also be great.

“China would leap to a leadership position in an important frontier area of basic science,” he wrote.

Gerard’t Hooft, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1999, said in an earlier interview to Doha-based broadcaster Al Jazeera that the proposed collider, if built, “will bring hundreds, probably thousands, of top class scientists with different specializations, from pure theory to experimental physics and engineering, from abroad to China”
