THIS STORY HAS TO BE FAKE BECAUSE THE IMAGE SHOWN NOT IN MICHIGAN AND BUGS DON’T SHOW UP ON RADAR
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids found a surprise on radar in West Michigan this morning.
Today brings another 80 degree day in West Michigan as summer keeps holding on. The unusually warm temperatures could be contributing to a horror-film-sized swarm of bugs stretching across several counties.
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids noticed the oddity this morning. They first ruled out smoke, then reached out to see what people on the ground were seeing in the area. It’s not fully conclusive, but it’s most likely bazillions of bugs are to blame for the surprise on radar this morning.
Anyone else notice the strange plume on our radar this morning? The Muskegon Wastewater Treatment Plant thinks it could be midges. Any other theories? We have ruled out smoke from a fire. If you are underneath this, we would love some ground truth! #miwx #wmiwx pic.twitter.com/sh12c13lyH
