OCALA NATIONAL FOREST, Fla. — The U.S. Navy is getting ready for bombing practice in north Florida.
Naval Air Station Jacksonville officials say they’re conducting several training missions over the next week in the Ocala National Forest.
Planes will be dropping inert bombs Wednesday night at the Pinecastle Range Complex. The devices don’t explode but emit smoke so pilots can see where they land. The Navy will drop both live and inert ordnance during the afternoon and night on Sunday and next Monday.
The bombing range is located about 10 miles west of Astor.
