The Courtroom saga of a Manhattan man accused of fishing without a license and resisting arrest continues.
Ernie Tertelgte, 52, entered Gallatin County Justice Court waving a white flag he called a “truce flag”.
Almost immediately, Judge Rick West asked him to put the flag down. At first Tertelgte refused, and the hearing was about to end the way several others have – with Tertelgte in contempt of court and in jail.
This time Judge West gave Tertelgte one last chance to lower the flag and he did.
He then approached the podium for the hearing.
Tertelgte asked Judge West to recuse himself from the case. West told him he could file a motion. In the end two trial dates were set; April 25, 2014 for fishing without and license and May 2, 2014 for resisting arrest.
