A woman sues a police force over an abuse of official power.
33-year old Dana Holmes of Coal City, Illinois, is suing the LaSalle County jail authorities over an incident in which she alleges she was arrested for drunk driving, then forcibly strip-searched and left naked in a jail cell.
The incident was captured on security cameras which show the woman being pulled to the ground by three male deputies and one female deputy, carried into a cell and stripped before the deputies walked out of the cell with her clothes; they returned a few minutes later with a blanket and a padded suit.
Her lawyer claims that the officer committed official misconduct by stripping her without justification.
According to The Chicago Tribune, the police report claims that the woman, whose blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit, was mouthy and uncooperative but it makes no notice of any reason why the oman was strip searched, nor does it claim there was any reason to believe her armed.
